ImpalaFest is the largest and longest running "B-Body" event in the United States. It was started by the HOSS (Home of the Super Sport) Impala Club and attended regularly by other owners and enthusiasts of the 94-96 Impala SS and related B-Body vehicles. It was first held at the GM Assembly Plant in Arlington, TX where the B-Body and 94-96 Impala SS cars were built. The last time it was held at the GM Arlington Assembly Plant was the year 2000 when it was held in conjunction with the GM employees classic car show. Jon Moss, the former GM Special Projects Manager and "Father of the SS" returned to the "Homecoming" and brought the original 510 Impala SS and several other concept vehicles to the show. Jon Moss attended ImpalaFest 2006 and revealed his New Custom Built Regency Conversion Impala SS.
The event was attended by former Mayor and now retired Judge Tom Vandergriff (the man responsible for bringing GM and the Texas Rangers to Arlington) the Managers and assemblers of the GM Arlington plant and several hundred SS and B-Body owners and enthusiasts. GM regulations eventually made a change of venue necessary and since 2001 ImpalaFest has been held at a variety of locations including the Texas Motor Speedway in 2006, and will be returning to TMS in 2008. For many years ImpalaFest has included a Car Show and Road Course Racing on the 1 mile LeMans Style Course. This will be the 12th Annual ImpalaFest and HOSS is still the host club for this National Event. This years' HOSS Impalafest/A Great American Car Show will include the Traditional "B-Body" Only as well a Much Larger "Open" Division Events that will run simultaneously.
When is it? September 26th, 27th, 28th which is a Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Various events are spread out over those 3 days. Many people will choose to arrive a day early at the hotel on the 25th to meet, greet, shop, sight-see, do some cruising, enjoy special dinner traditions and begin to get themselves and their cars ready for competition.
Where is it? ImpalaFest 2008 is not held at just one location. The registration and event headquarters is located at the Marriot Champions Circle across the street from TMS. The A Great American Car Show and Road Course Racing will be held at Texas Motor Speedway across the road from host hotel. All after hours events will be held at various locations around the area, see schedule of events for more info.
Who can participate? Anyone can participate in ImpalaFest! 2008 is the second year in which ImpalaFest will include "Open Division" events in addition to the traditional "B-Body Only" events. Bring your 94-96 Impala SS or B-Body to compete in our traditional "B-Body only" events. Bring your 1900's-2009 Hot Rod, Classic Cruiser, Muscle Car or "Tuner" any brand, make or model. Bring your Model T, 64 Impala Lowrider, 52 Ford Coupe, Harley Davidson Bike and Truck or anything in between. Car clubs will be allowed to park together for ease of judging and hanging out with new friends. Be it a stock or custom vehicle everyone is welcome to compete in the Car Show or Road Course Racing.
Are B-Bodies going to compete against other cars? NO ! ImpalaFest is STILL a traditionally B-Body and 94-96 Impala SS event, those events will NOT change. Providing "Open Division" events for others to participate in is our way of bringing others into our event in order to educate them on our cars, our clubs, our events and for all of us to get to know one another and further the enjoyment and add to the enrichment of various automobile hobbies.
Can I really bring any car? YES! Corvettes are a common sight at our events and are always welcome to attend all of our events. After all, the 94-96 Impala SS is simply a 4-Door Vette aren't they? HEHEHE

Will there be trophies and awards? You Bet! ImpalaFest traditionally is very friendly and competitive. Impala SS and B-Body owners take a lot of pride in their cars and do their best to always make a good showing. Many of our participants have won rare and prestigious awards while participating in other events including AutoRama, Super Chevy, Texas Muscle Car Club Challenge Series and other Regional and National events. Some have come away with Best in Class, Best in Show and Special Manufacturer and Commercial Product Awards. There are always lots of participants and plenty of awards to go around at ImpalaFest and our awards are highly prized. In 2007 there were 90 awards presented. 75 Car Show Awards, Impala SS/B-Body and Open Classes 15 Best of Show Awards
In 2008 the amount of awards will increase based on participation and open event activities. Car Show awards are provided for Best of and of course Class Award and Class Winners as participation dictates. Road Course awards are based on the vehicle class and best times. Classes include Stock, Prepared, Modified and Race set ups. Other Awards - Club Participation Award for the most participants registered, Longest Individual Distance traveled to attend, Dirtiest Car, Slowest Racer, and other awards are always fun to do and they will return for ImpalaFest 2008!
